Hey Fabulosos--
Good news and bad news. Good news is our first show is coming up this week! SWEET! Bad news is that we've had to cut the Tchaikovsky Serenade from the program. We've had big problems with baaaaaad illness among the string personnel, and it's just not possible to present the piece with our people outta commission. Luckily there's still the Soldier's Tale, featuring killer choreography from the Oklahoma Festival Ballet, beautiful video stylings by Bonnie Bogovich, and of course tunes rocked out by the RRCO! (Those of us who aren't dying of the flu, that is...)
See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RRCO is pleased to announce that Ms. Laura Wood, soprano, and Mr. Robert Watson, tenor, will be featured guest soloists at our Operagrass concert coming up in April! Stay tuned-- auditions are still happening, and we'll announce the names of our final two guest soloists soon!

Attention, Fabulosos! The Gala Opening Concert has been rescheduled for February 21 and 22 2008. We have also been invited to do an encore performance of Stravinsky's Soldier's tale at OU's Reynolds Performing Arts Center. Stay tuned for more details, and see you soon!!!
The Red Rock Chamber Orchestra is delighted to announce that Ms. Holly S. Tallchief and her students from the University of Oklahoma School of Dance will be the featured guest ballet artists in our performance of L'Histoire du Soldat on January 12 and 13. Ms. Tallchief is a highly respected performer, choreographer, and educator and we are extremely honored and excited about this collaboration! Watch for more updates coming soon!
As of Friday October 26, 2007, the Red Rock Chamber Orchestra is officially a not-for-profit corporation (registered as Red Rock Chamber Orchestra Society through the Oklahoma Secretary of State's office). This is a huge step for us toward becoming an established presence in the Oklahoma music scene. Because our non-profit status is only at the state level (not throught the IRS), contributions are *not* yet tax-deductible. The next step will be to file a 501(c)(3) application with the IRS, and after that we'll essentially be "going national," and we'll then be able to apply for grants to 1. expand our artistic goals 2. pay our performers and 3. have our friends' donations be TAX DEDUCTIBLE!! We will keep you abreast of all our news as soon as it happens. Check out our Music page and you'll find our current list of music for our adopt-a-piece program. Coming soon: a Paypal account so you can adopt pieces online!! So stay tuned, and thanks so much for dreaming BIG and rockin' along with us!
